Confirm a Holding Release
Use exact identity and an approximate event time. Name alone may confuse two people, while a citation number, incident number, case number, or known arresting agency narrows the search. Ask whether the person completed a CCDC booking or left the arresting agency’s control first.

A focused request can seek an existing incident report, citation, custody log entry, transport record, or booking record for a named event. State the approximate date and location, the person’s full name, and a known report or case number. Ask for the recorded disposition of the short hold, such as cited, released, or transported, without asking the custodian to create a narrative it does not keep.
Fees, response terms, and exemptions depend on the record and custodian. Kentucky’s Open Records Act applies to existing nonexempt agency records, but protected details may be withheld. Court files are requested through the Clay Circuit Court Clerk under judicial access procedures.
